Gill Price

I have lived near the Black Country canal network since I was a child and have always enjoyed the sense of freedom and relaxation achieved whilst walking or cycling along its towpaths.  Different seasons can have dramatic effects on the shadows and reflections of the waterways and I am also fascinated by the visible contrasts of colour and texture on surfaces, such as narrowboats, locks and bridges.

As a textile artist, on a journey of discovery and observation, I seek to create parts of this beautiful architectural landscape in my work and aim to explore and experiment with mixed media techniques that involve painting, printing and stitching on cloth and paper
