For 20 years, I have worked as a textile artist, educator and facilitator, creating tactile, nature‑rooted pieces that invite people to slow down, notice detail, and feel held by the making process. My specialism is wet felting, which I combine with macramé, weaving and other constructed textile techniques to build work that balances structure with soft, organic growth. Whether I’m shaping sculptural forms, developing colour‑rich surfaces, or creating macraweave pieces that move gently across a frame, my practice is guided by a deep interest in how materials can support calm, curiosity and wellbeing.

I draw inspiration from natural textures, quiet rhythms and the satisfaction of “closing the loops” – a phrase that reflects both the physical act of making and the emotional steadiness it can offer. Many of my pieces explore how repeated gestures, layered fibres and slow, intentional processes can create spaces of ease for both maker and viewer. This approach also informs my teaching and facilitation: I co‑lead The Creative Workshop Coaches CIC, supporting practitioners to design inclusive, trauma‑aware creative sessions, and I have taught constructed textiles at Midlands Arts Centre for more than a decade.

Alongside my studio practice, I exhibit regionally in galleries, museums and community settings, and I am currently the Midlands Regional Coordinator for the International Feltmakers Association. Across all strands of my work, I aim to create textiles that feel welcoming, grounded and quietly joyful – pieces that encourage people to pause, breathe, and connect with the gentle possibilities held within fibre, colour and touch
