I am a mixed media textile artist, drawing upon a range of materials that fit in with my many themes . Working intuitively with an experimental approach, allowing the properties of the fabric to resonate with my emotions based around a particular subject matter.
Living in the North a Worcestershire countryside, I am surrounded by nature and much of my work focuses on the structure of landscape and also the smaller detail, that might well be missed. ‘Taking a closer look’ is a recurrent theme focusing on form, texture light giving my interpretation of how I see and feel at that moment in time.
Seascapes also feature strongly throughout my work, manipulating, distressing and layering fabrics to create movement and depth, then securing with repeated machine stitching to blend, just as a watercolour artist would paint.
