I’m a textile artist and educator working under the name The Manbroiderer. My practice is driven by a deep fascination with texture — the slow, organic patterns found in nature and the engineered surfaces of man‑made objects. These contrasts shape the way I work with cloth, pushing fabric through hand stitch and experimental machine techniques to explore how surfaces can be built, stressed, layered, and transformed. I use traditional embroidery stitches in contemporary, expressive ways, combining them with free‑motion and machine‑led approaches to create sculptural, tactile textiles. My pieces often evolve through repetition, disruption, and the physical act of making. I’m drawn to the marks left by erosion, weathering, growth, and human intervention, and I translate those rhythms into stitched surfaces that invite close looking and sensory engagement.

Teaching is a central part of my practice. I run workshops, studio days, and community sessions across the West Midlands, creating welcoming spaces where people can reconnect with creativity through stitch. I focus on process, curiosity, and material exploration — whether someone is discovering the meditative pace of hand embroidery or learning to use the sewing machine as a drawing tool. My aim is always to build confidence, encourage play, and make textile art accessible to everyone.
